Design Thinking for Circular Economy

Designing a sustainable built environment involves strategic planning and infrastructure of the flow of resources and zero waste. What has struck us about nature's dealing with waste is not its zero-waste quality but its opportunistic quality. In LOOP STORIES, we treat every community in which we live, schools at which we study, places at which we work and homes as an ecosystem. We aim for searching, defining and guarding all the resources in the system in order to connect them within circular economy rather than a linear one.

LOOP Stories has created Cepha Method which takes its name from cephalopods, a class of mollusks which octopuses are in. Cepha Method is a Creative Thinking Method, which tries to build infinite loops in the ever-expanding economy with open, decentralized, adaptive, transparent and communicative design. An Octopus has three hearts, 9 brains, a curious mind, flexible body that can change its colour, shape ,texture and engulfs many other qualities that can be adapted to this fun and earth-loving innovation.

Our love for Earth with its all constituents led our innovation ideas to practical projects. As LOOP Stories, we have started to offer a soap subscription box, for young and young-at-hearts. They will consist of all natural soaps which we embed mini-plastic toys (which are already in the system) and we are promising their loops in the system as long as possible. Our aim is to make the plastic obsolete one day but keeping them away from landfill and making this a fun exercise for children while embedding them circular economy is our mission. Please visit our shop and learn more.

We are also researching to enable schools/families to implement circular economy to their curriculum/everydaylives. This subscription for schools and families is an actionable toolkit which can be received weekly or monthly. The packs will contain games, workshops, group work instructions, ideas and products. We are aiming to connect educational values to ecological and social ones and they  will be based on ideas on sustainable entrepreneurship, circular economy, resource efficiency. We are looking to work with illustrators, content and product designers for our prototype this academic year. Please contact us for more info.
